Various Sources of Vitamin C
Oranges are known to be a rich source of Vitamin C, but
there are so many other foods that are equally or are richer sources of Vitamin
C. A medium-sized Orange has only 69.7mg of Vitamin C, while there are some
others that have much higher amounts of Vitamin C in them. Here, we will look
at some of those sources.
1) Chili Peppers
Chili peppers are most commonly
known for spicing your dish up. They are a highly rich source of Vitamin C,
with just a half cup of chopped chili peppers serving 107.8 mg of Vitamin C.
They have also been known to relieve joint and muscle pains, due to them
containing capsaicin.
2) Red and green bell peppers
A cup of chopped Red bell peppers
contains 190mg of Vitamin C and are also a rich source of Vitamin A, which
promotes good eye health. A cup of chopped green bell peppers, on the other
hand, contain 120 mg of Vitamin C and are also a great source of fiber. Both
these types of bell peppers contain a significantly greater amount of Vitamin
C than oranges.

3) Broccoli
Broccoli is not the go-to, or favorite
food for a lot of people, but is incredibly healthy, and when cooked the right
way, will also taste good. A single serving of Broccoli contains 132 mg of Vitamin
C, in addition to being a great source of fiber, for just 30 calories per
serving. Additionally, Broccoli is also expected to be instrumental in preventing
certain types of cancers.
4) Papaya
Papaya is widely known for being
very effective for a wide range of skin problems. It is great for treating your
sinuses, brightening your skin, and even strengthening your bones. Additionally, a one-cup serving of Papaya gives you as much as 88.3 mg of vitamin C.
5) Cauliflower
Cauliflower is a very versatile
vegetable and tastes good no matter how you cook it, as long as you manage to
not burn it. They are also incredibly healthy, with just one head of a cauliflower
containing as much as 127.7mg of Vitamin C, along with 5g of protein and 5g of fiber.

6) Strawberry
Strawberries are loved by most
people, for their juicy and tanginess. They are great with almost all kinds of
desserts and are just as amazing by themselves. A cup of strawberries contains
84.7mg of Vitamin C, along with several compounds that are known to promote
good heart health. Strawberries are also known for whitening your teeth
naturally.
7) Mango
A single mango contains 122.3mg
of Vitamin C, and is also a great source of Vitamin AA, which is not only good
for your eyes but is also good for boosting your immunity levels.
8) Kiwis
Kiwis make for a very good
breakfast food, along with your other staple breakfast foods. About two Kiwi
fruits offer up to 137.2mg of Vitamin C and also contain potassium and copper.
9) Pineapples
Pineapples contain 78.9 mg of
Vitamin C, and also contain bromelain, a digestive enzyme that helps break down
your food more effectively while digestion and is a naturally anti-inflammatory
substance that will help you recover soon after a workout.

10) Brussels sprouts
These are essentially known as
little cabbages, which look absolutely cute. However, many keep off them for
their bitter taste, but their real sweetness comes around when they are roasted
properly. A single sprout contains 74.8mg of Vitamin C. these sprouts also have
several cancers preventing properties in them.
